Gipson to retire as NSU women's basketball coach

TAHLEQUAH – After 18 seasons guiding the Northeastern State University women's basketball program, head coach Randy Gipson will be announcing his retirement from coaching on Wednesday, March 1.
 
Gipson has compiled a career coaching record of 605 wins against 282 losses (.682). He was 315-205 at NSU, and heading into the 2016-17 season, was ranked as the 33rd winningest active coach in NCAA Division II women's basketball. His 315 victories is tops for women's basketball coaches at NSU.
 
MEDIA NOTE FOR PRESS CONFERENCE: A formal press conference with Gipson will be held on Wednesday, March 1 at 11 a.m. inside the Errol McKoy Media Room at the NSU Event Center. Tony Duckworth, Northeastern State University Director of Athletics and Chief Athletics Officer and Gipson will not be available for comment until Wednesday's press conference.  Those members of the media interested in attending, can contact Don Vieth, Northeastern State University Director of Athletics Communications at vieth@nsuok.edu.
