The 2017 campaign is the second at NSU for Chris Girdner. He is serving as a graduate assistant who is assisting with the defensive line.
Prior to returning to Northeastern State, he spent two seasons from 2014-15 as an assistant coach at Union High School.
The Tahlequah native was a member of the RiverHawks from 2009-10, playing in one game during the 2010 season. He helped lead NSU to a co-conference championship that year.
Girdner was also an all-conference lineman and team captain at Keys High School.
He graduated from NSU in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice, and he is working toward his master degree in kinesiology.Â
