RiverHawks to host Nebraska-Kearney and Fort Hays State for Homecoming Weekend

Week 6 Match Notes

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. - 
Northeastern State will host two MIAA opponents, Nebraska-Kearney and Fort Hays State  Homecoming weekend. NSU will face off against Nebraska-Kearney at 7pm Friday, October 5th and Fort Hays State at 11 am on Sunday, October 7th at DeLoache Field.
 
RiverHawks Recap 
Northeastern State split 1-1 in conference play for week five of the regular season on the road. The RiverHawks fell to the Bearcats of Northwest Missouri 3-0 and came back with a win 3-1 against Missouri Western State.

Northeastern State enters week six with a record of 7-2-0 and 3-2-0 in the MIAA. NSU ranks fifth in conference standings as of October 1, 2012. The RiverHawks average 2.78 in scoring, 24.7 shots per game and 14 assists. Leading NSU in scoring is Rachel Sordahl with 8 goals and 16 points. Sophomore midfielder Lizzie Cudjoe is second to Sordahl with four goals scored on the season and also leads the team in assists with five. Junior forward Emily Voges has four goals and nine points. Jennifer Clark has three goals on the year followed by Lindsey Latta with two. Also scoring goals this year are Kelsey Sheldon, Rachel Gleason, Jolene Thompson, and Sibonet Quinones each earning one goal for the RiverHawks. Goalkeeper Hannah Brudzinski is 4-1-0 on the year, has played in six games for a total of 442:34 minutes and has made 10 saves and allowed six goals.  Goalkeeper Maggie Kloza is 3-1-0 on the year, has played in five games for a total of 367:26 and has made seven saves and allowed five goals. 
Scouting the Lopers
Nebraska- Kearney has an overall record of 5-3-1 and are 0-2-1 in the conference. NKU has suffered conference losses to Southwest Baptist (0-1), Missouri Southern (0-3) and tied Central Missouri 1-1. 
Leading the Lopers in scoring are forward McKinzie Rieber with three goals, and midfielders Montanna Hosterman, Tara Knowlton, and Kristyn Otter each with two goals on the year. Goalkeeper Marissa Niday has a 5-3-1 record and has 36 saves and two shutouts. 
Scouting the Tigers
Fort Hays State has an overall record of 7-3-0 and are 3-2-0 in the conference. The Tigers average 2.4 goals a game and 21.9 shots a game. FHSU has suffered conference losses against Central Missouri (0-1) and Missouri Southern (1-2). Fort Hays has defeated MIAA foes Southwest Baptist (3-0), Washburn (3-1) and Emporia State (2-0). Leading the Tigers in scoring and assists are forward Sade Humphrey with six goals on the year and three assists, defender Jordan Hester with four goals and four assists, and midfielder Alexis Aiman with three goals and five assists. Goalkeeper Nicole Barnaba is 5-1-0 overall with four shutouts, 25 saves and only two goals allowed this season.
