RiverHawks Earn Big 80-57 win over SEOSU

Harsen, Collins lead No. 23 Northeastern State with 14 points each

DURANT, Okla. – The No. 23-ranked Northeastern State women's basketball team defeated Southeastern Oklahoma State University 80-57 Wednesday night at Bloomer Sullivan Arena.
 
The RiverHawks (2-1) shot 48 percent from the field and held the Savage Storm (0-2) to just 32 percent shooting. NSU also shot 40 percent from three-point range (10-25) and 10-for-14 from the free-throw line.
 
SEOSU shot just 6 of 23 from downtown (26 percent) and hit 72 percent of its free throws (13 of 18).
 
Ten different RiverHawks scored in the contest, led by 14 points from junior guards Katy Harsen and Taylor Collins. Senior guard Tosha Tyler added 11 with five assists, while fellow senior guard Taylor Lewis dropped 10 points. Sophomore guard Fontana Tate led the team with nine rebounds.
 
Bailey Welch was the only member of the Savage Storm to reach double figures, as she finished with 11.
 
Northeastern State also outrebounded Southeastern Oklahoma State 45-33. NSU had 10 steals and forced 16 turnovers.
 
The RiverHawks led 41-22 at halftime and outscored the home team 39-35 in the second half.
 
NSU is now set for its home opener. The team will play host to Northwestern Oklahoma State University at 6 p.m. Nov. 20 inside Jack Dobbins Field House.
