ADA, Okla. – The Northeastern State women's soccer team collected a second-straight shutout in a 2-0 road triumph over East Central University Tuesday evening at Lady Tiger Field.

Senior forward Jennifer Clark continued her hot start to the season, as she put away both goals for the undefeated RiverHawks (3-0). This was the second time in her career she scored two goals in a match.

She potted the first marker in the 38th minute when fellow senior forward Emily Voges found her free along the right side. The second goal came in the 62nd minute off a pass from sophomore forward Lindsey Latta.

"We missed several quality opportunities before we were finally able to put one away," NSU coach Chase Wooten said. "We just couldn't score, and (East Central's) goalkeeper was everywhere."

Clark has now registered at least one point in all three matches this season, as she scored the overtime game-winner and posted an assist against Augustana and dished out a helper at Harding.

True freshman goalkeeper Jordan Woodruff (3-0) had her toughest test yet in goal, but she answered the call with eight saves in earning her second-consecutive clean sheet. East Central goalkeeper Lexi Hurley (0-3) suffered the loss after registering 11 saves and allowing the two goals.

The visitors outshot the Lady Tigers (0-3) 33-14 and won the corner kick battle, 11-5.

"This team was very comparable to Augustana. I think we were better tonight than we were when we opened up the season last week against them," Wooten said. "We did a good job of managing the game late when we had a lead, and I was very happy with that."

NSU will now travel to Abilene, Texas, Sept. 13 for a 7 p.m. meeting with McMurry University.
