Box Score (PDF)RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Northeastern State men's basketball team dropped a 67-55 decision to Arkansas Tech Friday evening on the first day of the Arkansas Tech Thanksgiving Classic inside Tucker Coliseum.

The RiverHawks lost their third in a row to fall to 1-4 on the season, while the Wonder Boys improved to 3-3.

Northeastern State shot 35 percent (21-for-60) from the field, 21.7 percent (5-for-23) from behind the arc and 66.7 percent (8-for-12) at the free-throw line. ATU posted a 41.7 percent (20-for-48) scoring clip overall, and the team was 5-for-21 (23.8 percent) from 3-point land and 22-for-36 (61.1 percent) at the free-throw line.

NSU was outrebounded 51-27 and committed 10 more fouls (27-17) than the home team.

The RiverHawks were led in scoring by senior guard
Michael Harmon, who poured in 21 points for the visitors. Junior forward
Dakota Caudill added a career-high 17 points. Branden Williams paced the Wonder Boys with 17 points and eight rebounds. Tyler Friedel added 11 and seven for ATU, while Nick Wayman pulled down 12 boards.

NSU started the game 1-for-23 from the field and fell behind 28-2 before heading to the locker room down 36-15.

The RiverHawks were able to cut the lead down to 46-37 with nine minutes remaining, but Arkansas Tech used a 14-2 run to stretch the lead back out to 21 before settling for the 12-point margin of victory.

The RiverHawks will remain in Russellville for a 2 p.m. tilt Nov. 29 against Ouachita Baptist.
