Box Score (PDF)TOPEKA, Kan. – The Northeastern State women's basketball team dropped an 83-58 decision to Washburn Saturday evening inside Lee Arena.
Two days after upsetting No. 9 Emporia State, the RiverHawks (10-12, 6-9 MIAA) were unable to maintain the momentum as the Ichabods improved to 16-8 overall and 8-8 in the MIAA.

The team shot 42.9 percent (21-for-49) from the field, 30 percent (6-for-20) from behind the 3-point line and 52.6 percent (10-for-19) at the free-throw line. WU shot 55.4 percent (31-for-56) overall, 42.3 percent (11-for-26) from downtown and 71.4 percent (10-for-14) at the charity stripe.
Taylor Ignoto led the Ichabods with 17 points. Honor Duvall added 13, while Janelle Travis had 11 and Erika Lane chipped in 10.
The RiverHawks were able to stay with Washburn in the first six minutes of the contest, as the teams were tied at 13-13. WU used a 16-5 run to pull ahead by 11 points, and the home team never trailed again.
NSU was able to cut the deficit down to 41-34 by halftime, but Washburn pulled ahead by 21 points at the midway point of the second half and never looked back.
Northeastern State will now prep for its final road game of the regular season against No. 10 Pittsburg State at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 18 in Pittsburg, Kansas.
