Box Score 2RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Northeastern State softball team lost two games to Arkansas Tech at Chartwells Women's Sports Complex Wednesday afternoon.
The RiverHawks (12-16, 4-6 MIAA) lost to Arkansas Tech (21-7, 10-4 GAC) 5-0 before falling 5-1 in game two. Â

Madison Boyd finished the day 3-for-7 while freshman

Megan Ewton (2-for-5) both had two hits on the day. Freshman
Kaleigh Hinkle (1-for-6) and sophomore
Krissy Crow (1-for-3) both recorded hits.
Northeastern State will next travel to Hays, Kansas, to take on Fort Hays State March 27. The first game is set to begin at 2 p.m.
ARKANSAS TECH 5, NORTHEASTERN STATE 0The Golden Suns took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when Alicia Lowrey singled home Janie Knowles.
Arkansas Tech added two runs in the fourth inning on a two-run home run by Kambri Hill.
The RiverHawks got the leadoff runner on base in the first four innings, but were unable to capitalize, leaving eight runners on base in the game.
The Golden Suns came into the game leading the nation in home runs per game (1.96) and Hill hit her second two-run shot in the sixth inning to extend Arkansas Tech's lead to 5-0.
Junior
Delaney Gray (1-3) took the loss for the RiverHawks. She threw 3.2 innings and conceded three runs on five hits. Senior
Laura Fleck threw 2.1 innings in relief, giving up two runs (one earned) on one hit.
ARKANSAS TECH 5, NORTHEASTERN STATE 1For the second-straight game, Arkansas Tech took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on an RBI single.
The Golden Suns added two insurance runs in the third inning on a two-run home run by Alexa Wimberly and pushed across an additional run later in the inning when Hill stole home.
The RiverHawks got one run back in the sixth inning on an Eales RBI. However, ATU got the run back in the bottom half of the inning to push the score to 5-1.
The green and white had runners on base in every inning but the fourth, leaving eight runners on base in the game.
Junior
Alex Files (2-3) took the loss in the circle for the RiverHawks. She allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits in 2.0 innings pitched. Files struck out one. Junior
Kayce Wooldridge threw 4.0 innings in relief, allowing one run on five hits. Â
