Box Score 2CLAREMORE, Okla. – The Northeastern State softball team swept Rogers State in a pair of nonconference games Tuesday evening at Diamond Sports Complex.
The RiverHawks (16-22) defeated Rogers State (9-22) 11-3 before winning 8-4 in the nightcap.
Every member of the lineup recorded at least one run batted in, while eight members of the squad had multiple hits on the day. Sophomore
Madison Boyd led the way for NSU, going 4-for-8. Five RiverHawks recorded three hits, led by junior
Megan Ewton (3-for-8) who also drove in four runs.
Northeastern State will next host Central Missouri in a MIAA doubleheader. The first game is set to begin at 1 p.m. April 10 at RiverHawks Park. NSU will then host Southwest Baptist April 11 for Senior Day.

NORTHEASTERN STATE 11, ROGERS STATE 3Rogers State took a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Whitney Hamilton hit an RBI single to right field.
The RiverHawks were able to get the run back in the top of the second inning when
Jessica Boone hit a ball sharply that the shortstop couldn't handle and
Bailey Applegate was able to cross the plate.
The Hillcats took the lead again in the bottom of the second inning on an RBI single by Jamie Kowalick. The green and white responded again the following inning, tying the game 2-2 when Applegate hit a ball up the middle, allowing Aguilar to score from second base.
NSU took the 3-2 lead in the fifth inning on Ewton's first RBI of the day. The team added two additional runs in the sixth inning when
Paige Gann hit a two-run home run to left field. Gann now has a team-leading nine home runs on the season.
The RiverHawks broke the game open in the top of the seventh inning, scoring six runs to take an 11-2 lead. RSU was able to get one run back in the bottom of the seventh inning on a solo home run by Katlin Alexander.
Junior
Kayce Wooldridge (9-8) earned the complete game victory for the RiverHawks. She conceded three runs on nine hits while striking out three and walking two.
NORTHEASTERN STATE 8, ROGERS STATE 4The RiverHawks took a 2-0 lead in the second inning on a double by Ewton, which drove in Applegate and Aguilar.
The Hillcats took the lead in the third inning, scoring three runs of their own.
NSU brought across four runs in the fifth inning to lead 6-3, but RSU got one run back in the bottom of the fifth inning on a home run by Carley Conley.
The RiverHawks scored two additional insurance runs in the seventh inning, pushing the final score to 8-4.
Senior
Laura Fleck (3-3) earned the victory for the RiverHawks. She threw 7.0 innings, allowing four runs on 10 hits. She struck out a career-high seven while walking none.
