The headline:
Northeastern State will be looking to snap a four game skid at Southwest Baptist this Saturday in Bolivar.  The RiverHawks have been led by sophomore Rylie Torrey who has 17.3 points per game this season and has hit double-figures in her first seven games in a NSU uniform.  Mary Jane Buschmann is leading NSU in rebounds with just over seven a game and she is nearly picking up 11 points in each contest.

The series: Since 20-6, the RiverHawks lead the series 4-3 over the Bearcats and in MIAA play NSU leads 3-1.  In the last five meetings between the two programs, Northeastern State has won four out of the last five.  Additionally, NSU has won in their last three appearances in Bolivar.

Last time out for NSU: A 29 point third quarter gave Central Oklahoma enough of a push to beat the RiverHawks 72-53 on Saturday afternoon at the Hamilton Field House.  Mary Jane Buschmann led the RiverHawks with 19 points in her best offensive day since she put up 20 on Jan. 4, 2016 at Northwest Missouri State.  Rylie Torrey had 12 points as NSU's second leading scorer in the contest. Miranda Griffin led NSU with seven rebounds but the RiverHawks would trail on the glass 42-to-27 with the Bronchos grabbing 13 offensive boards.  In second chance points, UCO had 12 with the RiverHawks having three points on five offensive rebounds.

Last time out for SBU: Southwest Baptist led through the first quarter but lost 73-61 to Central Oklahoma on Thursday to open MIAA play.  The Bearcats were outscored 40-22 in the middle two periods with four players hitting double-figures.  Aliyah Isaac led SBU with 15 points but had seven turnovers.  Rebounds were even for both squads but the Bearcats would go 2-for-14 from the arc in the loss.

Scouting SBU: Megan Rosenbohm is ninth in the MIAA in scoring with 16.5 points per game and averages a block per outing for the Bearcats.  Southwest Baptist is second in the MIAA in field goal percentage (.474) and is fourth in field goal percentage defense (.361).  Prior to their loss on Thursday to Central Oklahoma, the Bearcats were riding a four game winning streak with their contest against NSU as their sixth in a row at home and ninth this year in Bolivar.  On Dec. 1, Southwest Baptist beat last year's National Champions, Lubbock Christian 67-54.
