TAHLEQUAH, OK- The #23 ranked Northeastern State women's soccer team remained unbeaten with a 3-1 victory over Emporia State on a cool evening at Deloach Field here Friday evening.
The RiverHawks improve to 9-0 and 2-0 in MIAA conference action, the Hornets fall to 2-5-2 and 0-2.
NSU broke open a scoreless game early in the second half as Anastasia Robinson's header off a cross from Julia Mathis netted the first goal of the game. Six minutes later the pair teamed up again only this time Mathis scored her league leading 11th goal of the year to give the RiverHawks a 2-0 advantage.
Kelsey Macintyre's goal a few minutes later capped off the scoring for the RiverHawks, the Hornets added a goal with 30 seconds left to avoid the shutout.
NSU will continue MIAA action on Sunday afternoon as Washburn will visit Deloach Field. Game time is set for 1:00 pm.
