ST. JOSEPH, Mo. –
Bryce Davenport's three RBI game sparked the Northeastern State offense to a 10-3 win at Missouri Western to avoid a road sweep on Sunday.

Davenport had three hits with a two run homer in the opening inning to bring his career hit total to 169 which is fourth most in the NCAA Division II era for the RiverHawks.

Northeastern State collected a season high 17 hits eight players in the starting lineup collecting a base.Â
Butch Rea went 3-for-6 with three runs scored and
Chad Reibenspies had a 3-for-5 day at the plate with a pair of RBI.

Zach Parish (2-2) went seven innings for the RiverHawks, with four strikeouts.Â
Zack Hammock tossed two clean innings out of the bullpen to wrap up the afternoon.

The RiverHawks did trail early in the game with Missouri Western holding onto a 3-2 lead after two innings. Â Missouri Western had a defensive lapse in the third with three errors, Northeastern State scored three runs in the inning and never looked back.

Zane Takhar gave the RiverHawks a 6-3 lead in the fifth on a RBI single to center before NSU batted through the order with five hits in the sixth to up 9-3 on Missouri Western. Â Davenport scored NSU's tenth run of the game in the seventh for his third RBI.

Sunday's win is the first for the RiverHawks in St. Joseph and broke a skid of 13 straight against Missouri Western who falls to 14-12 and 11-5 in the MIAA.

Northeastern State (13-11, 7-6 MIAA) will travel to Durant on Tuesday to face Southeastern Oklahoma in a non-conference midweek tilt.
