RiverHawks' season ends with 2-1 loss in MIAA Quarterfinal

EMPORIA, Kan. -- Northeastern State will see its season end in the MIAA Quarterfinals for the third consecutive season following a 2-1 loss on Wednesday at Emporia State.

All three goals were settled in the first half of play.  Paulina Chavez scored the equalizing goal for the RiverHawks from ten yards out in the 26th minute of play on a pass from Mariah Nicolet.

The Lady Hornets countered in the 43rd minute and went ahead off a corner kick that found the back of the net on a deflection.

Offensively, NSU was limited to six shots, and three corner kicks.  Chavez was credited with all three shots on-goal.

Wednesday's loss will end the RiverHawks' season at 10-7-2 overall.  Emporia State (14-4-1) will advance to face Central Missouri this upcoming Friday.
