CLAREMORE – Rogers State hit a game winning three-pointer with six seconds remaining to cap a Wednesday evening comeback to sink the RiverHawks 71-66 on the road inside the Claremore Expo Center.
The loss sends the RiverHawks to 2-1 this season while the Hillcats move up to 2-1 and have won all six meetings with NSU.
Tanner Mouse left a pair of points away from a career mark with a game high 20 points and
Caleb Smith scored 18 and had eight rebounds.
Aaron Givens paced the RiverHawks with nine rebounds and added a pair of blocks.
Northeastern State led as many as 14 points and held a double-digit advantage over Rogers State to the midway point in the second half.
TURNING POINT
Leading 55-42 at the 11:55 mark in the second half, the RiverHawks would go cold from the field for over five minutes. Rogers State took advantage and scored ten straight pull back within a possession of Northeastern State.
