• Winners of their last eight games.
• Picking up 27 points in the NABC Coaches Poll, while landing at #19 in the D2SIDA Media Poll.

• Lone loss came in their opener against then ranked-#18 St. Cloud State (89-77).
• They have won seven straight at home and 10 of their last 11.
• Handed Central Oklahoma a 96-68 loss on Thursday evening in both teams' MIAA opener.
• The Lions had two with 20+ point evenings and shot 72.4-percent in the second half against the Bronchos.
• Pacing the MIAA in points per game with 95 an outing.
• Sophomore transfer Cam Martin is second in the conference in scoring with 23.2 points a game and is third in rebounding with eight per game
• Led by fifth year head coach Jeff Boschee who is 84-46 at Southern.

RiverHawks vs. Lions Series

• The last time both teams met, Northeastern State sacked the Lions in the second half with a 20-0 run, to beat MSSU 78-48.
• The win for the RiverHawks was the largest victory margin against a MIAA program.
• NSU has lost three in a row at MSSU with its last win coming on Jan. 16, 2013 (73-54).
• In the overall series, MSSU holds a 21-18 lead, with the RiverHawks winning three of the last seven contests.
• Head Coach Mark Downey is 1-0 against Southern.

Looking Back

• Northeastern State had all five of its starters in double-figures in an 86-78 loss at Pitt State.
• First first out-of-state contest of the year for the RiverHawks.    
• Caleb Smith left a point short of his season high with 18. 
• A total of 47 fouls were called with teams being sent to the line 50 times.
• Northeastern State shot a better hand at 49.1-percent. 
• Despite PSU out-rebounding the RiverHawks by one with 11 on the offensive side, they out-scored NSU by 13.

Senior transfer D'Angelo Jackson starts the season with 1,203 career points in-between stops at Eastern Illinois and Highland CC.  Jackson has a career average at over 15 points per game and was selected as a NJCAA All-American.

• In eight games, Jackson is averaging 10.5 points, and is shooting 50.8% from the field.

Double-Double x2
For the first time since Feb. 10, 2010 at Southwestern Okla., the RiverHawks had two players with a double-double on a box score.  Josh Ihek and Aaron Givens both hit double-doubles on Nov. 27 against Bacone by hitting double-digits in points and rebounds.

Inside Men
NSU's post players, Aaron Givens and Josh Ihek are shooting a combined 66.2-percent and accounting for 12.3 rebounds per game.  On the offensive glass the two is averaging nearly five rebounds per game, and scoring 14.7 points a game.

Benchmark
The RiverHawks broke a facility scoring record in its last two contests inside the NSU Event Center.  Northeastern State set a new bar with 118 points on Nov. 30, 2018 against Central Christian (Mo.), a mere 72 hours after braking the prior record that has held for five years.

Northeastern State has one freshman on its roster this season with nine juniors, and four seniors.

Former Rangers
Jahmel Bodrick, Michael Bowers, and Caleb Smith all come to Northeastern State from Ranger College (Texas) and played for Former Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Kentucky basketball coach Billy Gillispie.
