Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Andrews scores 22 points in 75-66 loss at Central Missouri

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Ten unanswered points by Central Missouri midway through the second quarter proved to be too much to overcome for the RiverHawks on Saturday, falling 75-66 in MIAA play.  Jamir Andrews paced NSU (7-15, 3-10 MIAA) with 22 points and Trent Cantrell added 11 off of the bench at Central Missouri (18-4, 10-3 MIAA).

Northeastern State led for the better part of the first half until the final five minutes where the Mules scored nine unanswered to take a 35-27 advantage into the locker room.

The RiverHawks never could retake the lead but closed within four points twice in the second half.  With Central Missouri leading 47-35 with 14:54 left, Andrews popped a pair of three-pointers and Gordon Hill had a jumper to go on an 8-0 run on the Mules.  Both teams traded buckets but just after the ten-minute mark NSU went 3:30 without scoring and the Mules dropped ten straight points to put the RiverHawks down.

On the glass, NSU held a 32-to-29 edge on the Mules with Andrews having eight, Josh Bougher had the squads second highest total with seven.

Northeastern State shot 41.7 (25-60) percent on the floor with UCM taking eight less attempts, shooting 51.9 percent (27-52); Andrews had four of the RiverHawks nine three pointers in the contest.
