OKLAHOMA CITY – Northeastern State saw its season come to an end at hands of Northwest Missouri, 6-1, in the second day of the MIAA Softball Tournament at HOF-OGE Energy Field.

NSU (30-26) was limited to five hits against the Bearcats with senior
Paige Gann going 2-for-3 in her final contest. Northwest Missouri (27-18) by eliminating the RiverHawks advances to the tournament semifinal.

The Bearcats did their damage using the long ball, hitting a pair in the first, and bringing home three in the third inning. Â

Northeastern State had its first ten batters go down in order before Gann hit a full-count pitch to left center for a single during the fourth.Â
Jess Schuler followed up with a single to put two on but both would be stranded on-base.

Leading 5-0 in the fifth, Northwest Missouri added their final run on a single through the right side.Â

The RiverHawks scored their lone run in the final frame that started with a
Kelsey Harmon single;
Kyla Ibarra later plated her on a single.

Gail Young (15-15) started the game and went 2 1/3 innings,
Sydney Balderrama spun the final 4 2/3 innings with three strikeouts.

Gann concluded her four-year career at NSU as its career home runs leader with 44 and sits on-top of the program hits leader board with 198.

Northeastern State finishes its season with 30 wins for the second time in the last three years under head coach
Clay Davis.  Prior to 2016, the RiverHawks had one season with at least 30 wins since 1995.
