TAHLEQUAH – Northeastern State set the pace early with three first half goals to throttle Drury 5-0 in their home opener on Saturday afternoon.Â
Joe Garcia netted two of the RiverHawks (2-0) goals in the first 45 minutes,
Justin Todd and
Blake Dumond joined in on the scoring parade with their first goals of the year. Goalkeeper
Thomas Salenbien had four saves and his first career shutout at NSU.

- The RiverHawks outshot the Panthers 18-to-9 and they had 11 attempts at the goal.
- Trevor Reed had two assists in the contest with one coming in both halves.
TURNING POINT
- The momentum swung completely NSU's way in the 20th minute when a Panther defender kicked the ball into their own goal while blocking a shot.
