Eldred records her seventh double-double in loss to Tigers

HAYS, Kan. – Northeastern State had three in double-figures but lost at #2/4-ranked Fort Hays State 88-50 on Thursday evening.  Bailee Eldred recorded her seventh career double-double in the loss with ten points and ten rebounds.
 
Cenia Hayes and Cailyn Long both matched Eldred on the floor with ten points.  Joi Bertrand left the floor with nine points and seven rebounds; she also three had blocks to push her season total to 38. 
 
The RiverHawks matched the Tigers out of the gates and led into the first media timeout.  Following the stoppage, the NSU momentum came to a halt and Fort Hays State finished the period on an 18-4 run. 

Northeastern State trailed by double-digits the rest of the way.
 
From the field the RiverHawks shot 31.6-percent (18-57) while going 4-for-17 at the arc.  The Tigers would out-rebound NSU 43-to-35, while shooting 50.0-percent (31-62) on their side of the floor.  
 
Thursday's loss is the third consecutive for the RiverHawks who will fall to 3-11 overall and 0-5 in the MIAA.  Fort Hays State is 14-0 and undefeated in their first five MIAA contests.
 
TIP-INS
First time in the last three contests that NSU was out-rebounded … Eldred went 4-for-4 at the free throw line to bump her season percentage up to 93.2-percent … fourth straight contest for Hayes to hit double-figures and tenth time this season.
 
COMING UP
Northeastern State will head further away from home and will make its lone visit to Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday for a 2 p.m. tip-off.
