ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Northeastern State could not recover from a cold second quarter and fell 76-61 on Saturday afternoon to Lindenwood inside Hyland Arena.
Joi Bertrand connected on her first six shots and led the RiverHawks with 15 points. The senior also had three assists and a pair of blocks for Northeastern State who falls to 5-14 (2-8 MIAA).

Cailyn Long both were in double-figures with 13 points.
The RiverHawks hung with the Lions early behind a hot shooting first quarter from Bertrand who had ten points on 5-for-5 shooting after the first period. After the games fifth tie at 19-19 with 5:55 left in the second period, the Lions finished on a 17-3 run; NSU was limited to six points on 2-for-9 shooting.
One third of NSU's points on Saturday came at the free throw line where they were 21-for-25. The RiverHawks as a group shot 37.3-percent (19-51) and were 2-for-15 at the arc. Lindenwood would have a 33-to-30 edge on the glass and shot 48.2-percent (27-56) with four players in double-figures.
The Lions improve to 13-3 and 7-2 in the MIAA with the win over NSU.
