HAYS, Kan. -- Northeastern State could not get their offense going on Friday night as they ended their season with a 2-0 loss to Rogers State in the semifinals of The GAC Tournament.Â
The Hillcats scored their first goal in the 34th minute when Luke Morgan scored in the top-left corner of the net. They would add a second goal in the 68th minute when Jordan Watson found Jake Simpson just inside the box who connected and put the ball in the lower-right corner of the net to put the Hillcats up 2-0.
Tom Singhgolden led the RiverHawks with three shots, two of which were on goal.
Ben Watson also had three shots while
James Doyle and
Flynn Semmerling both recorded two shots. Semmerling and
Scott Adams both had one shot on goal for NSU.
Justin Hinman made three saves in net.
NSU outshot the Hillcats 13-9, with a 6-3 advantage in the first half. Four of those shots were on goal. They also had six corner kicks compared to three for Rogers State.Â
The RiverHawks end the season with an overall record of 11-8.
