INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – For the first time in its program history, Northeastern State is going to the NCAA Tournament in women's soccer.
Announcements were made Monday evening with the team watching the selection show inside the Green & White Room at Doc Wadley Stadium.
The RiverHawks are the number-6 seed in the tournament and will face Concordia-St. Paul on the campus of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Mo.
Northeastern State is one of 56 teams in the nation that will see their season continue and joins MIAA programs, Central Missouri and Central Oklahoma in the tournament.
Through three rankings, NSU was fifth in the Central Region and finished runner up in the MIAA Regular Season and Tournament.
Friday's first round match will be played at 10 a.m.
