Opening Tip 
  • The RiverHawks are ranked in the top-25 for the first time since Nov. 26, 2013.  They have been receiving votes in the last four weeks in the NABC poll.  In the D2SIDA Poll, they are receiving votes for the first time this week. 
  • Northeastern State has played with the same starting five in all their regular-season games this season.
  • If you are tracking uniform combos, the RiverHawks have worn their gray set for the last five games.   The last time they wore home whites was in their season opener on Nov. 13 against Bacone. 
  • In the final game of the calendar year, the RiverHawks have dropped their last three.
  • Caleb Smith is fifth in the MIAA, with 170 total points.
  • Aaron Givens is third in the MIAA with 15 blocks and has averaged 10.7 points and nine rebounds in the last three games.
  • NSU's defense is fifth in the nation and has allowed only 61.4 points per game.
  • Teams are shooting 37.5-percent against the RiverHawks, which is sixth-lowest nationally.
  • The RiverHawks are third in the MIAA, with 106 made three-pointers.
  • All five contests in December are at home; they will play at home six times during the remainder of the regular season.
  • In the 10s, Northeastern State holds a 105-168 record.  However, in the first and final years of the decade, they hold a 23-7 overall mark. 
The Series with Rogers State
  • Seventh meeting overall and first as conference foes. 
  • Rogers State has won all three meetings with NSU in Tahlequah. 
  • Second December meeting between the two programs.
  • NSU led as many as 14 points in last season's meeting in Claremore. 
  • In the last meeting in Tahlequah, the RiverHawks trailed by two with six minutes to go in the contest. 
  • Head Coach Mark Downey is 0-2 against the Hillcats all-time.
About the Hillcats
  • Closed out a four-game homestand with a 121-64 win over Bacone and are 4-0 in December. 
  • NSU will be the first of three straight road games for the Hillcats. 
  • Senior transfer Marques Sumner leads the Hillcats with 15.4 points per game.  Sumner transferred from Stetson with Ricardo Lynch for their final season.  Lynch has not played since Nov. 25 at Cameron.
  • In eight games against NCAA foes, the Rogers State bench is outscored 154-to-125. 
  • Muskogee native Tavian Davis is 30-for-30 at the free-throw line and played with NSU's Aaron Givens in high school. 
  • Led by Northeastern State graduate Justin Barkley, who was a member of the 2003 National Championship team at NSU. 
Looking Back
  • Aaron Givens recorded his fourth double-double with a career-high 16 points and 11 rebounds.  
  • Northeastern State led S&T by 21 points with seven minutes to go in the first half.
  • The Miners led for only 1:02 and never held more than a two-point lead. 
  • Missouri S&T shot 58-percent in the second half and banked seven treys on the NSU defense.
