EDMOND – Southeastern Oklahoma plated runs in the first three innings and blanked Northeastern State, 5-0, in Edmond on Monday morning.
The shutout is the first for the RiverHawks this season who drop to 5-4 overall.
The Savage Storm (2-7) jumped head with two runs in the opening frame on NSU starter
Gail Young (4-1) and added two more on a homer in the second inning. Southeastern added its fifth run on a double-steal attempt with runners on the corners.
Northeastern State was limited to six hits and left seven runners on base.
Kelsey Harmon went 2-for-3 with a triple to start the third inning.
The RiverHawks will return to the field on Friday to play five games in Bentonville, Ark.
