TAHLEQUAH – Northeastern State grabbed its fourth straight win in a row sweeping Missouri Western, 7-0 on Sunday afternoon. 

The victory over the Griffons moves NSU to 6-6 this season and 4-1 in the MIAA. 

Northeastern State's lone blemish of the day came in their top doubles pairing with #26-ranked Mayra Jovic and Tatjana Stoll falling 6-2.   The RiverHawks would win on the other two courts for the early point on the Griffons. 

In singles play, #29-ranked Jovic made quick work of Mireia Birosta, 6-1, 6-0 at twos.  Melissa Vera won 6-0, 6-3 at six-singles, and #32-ranked Stoll clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-1 win on the main court.   

Jovic with her win on Sunday is now 27-0 in singles during the regular season and Stoll has won her last eight matches. 

The Griffons have now lost their last six in a row and are 8-10 overall and winless in five MIAA contests. 

Sunday's sweep is the second this season for NSU and the 11th consecutive win over Missouri Western. 

Northeastern State will return to action this Friday where they will face Washburn on the road.
