OKLAHOMA CITY – Northeastern State's season ended on Friday afternoon with a 4-2 loss to Southwest Baptist in the opening round of the MIAA Women's Tennis Tournament.
Southwest Baptist (12-5) advances to the tournament semifinals and will face Washburn.
The RiverHawks two points came in singles with #17-ranked
Tatjana Stoll besting #4-ranked Jill Van Den Dungen, 6-4, 6-2 on the central court. Friday's win is the fifth this season over a ranked foe and her first over a player inside the top-5 in the nation.
Karla Tomic concluded her four-year career with a 7-6, 6-2 win in fives. In singles, Tomic will leave NSU with a 67-33 singles record and a 63-32 mark in doubles.
Mayra Jovic, NSU's second senior, went 38-5 in singles and 26-19 in doubles.
Northeastern State's season ends with an 8-9 record.
