How it Happened
Pitching dominated the game, as through three innings neither team advanced a runner past second base. The RiverHawks didn't record their first hit until the bottom of the seventh, when Crick doubled to right-center. The RiverHawks were unable to capitalize on the chance, sending the game into extra innings.
Both teams scored in the eighth, with NSU's run coming when
Cameron Conrad singled up the middle to score
Cat Rodman and tie the game.
After Chadron State couldn't push across a run in the top of the ninth, NSU came to the plate.
Addie Elbon was placed on second, and advanced to third when
Alyssia Crick hit a sacrifice bunt. S. Crick then stepped up to the plate and hit a sacrifice fly to center field to score Elbon and give NSU their fourth consecutive victory.
