Men's Basketball grabs #6-seed for MIAA Tournament

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – With a Central Oklahoma win over Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday evening, the RiverHawks will leap up to the #6-seed in the upcoming MIAA Tournament.  

Northeastern State (18-10) will face #3-seed Missouri Southern (21-7) in the quarterfinal round on Friday, March 6, at 8:15 p.m. in Municipal Auditorium.

In the regular-season meeting between the two teams, the Lions bested the RiverHawks late, 65-62.   Northeastern State led for more than half the game and was up inside the final three minutes.

The upcoming meeting in the MIAA Tournament will be the first between the two programs, with the last four contests being split between the two.

Friday's winner will advance to play the winner of the Rogers State and Nebraska-Kearney/Pittsburg State game on Saturday, March 7, at 8:15 p.m.

Tickets to tournament sessions remain on-sale at the NSU Athletics Offices located inside the Event Center in Tahlequah.
