HOW IT HAPPENED
The RiverHawks exploded for three runs in the top of the second, as Chaz Orr led off with a infield single. After he advanced to second on a throwing error by the catcher and Dylan Hight drew a walk, Traice Hartter singled into left field, scoring Orr and moving Hight to third base. Reid Fehr then picked up two RBI when he laced a double to the left-center field fence to score Hartter and Hight and give NSU a 3-0 lead.

The Bearcats would respond in the bottom of the inning, scoring two runs on one hit. They had a chance to get more, as they loaded the bases with two outs, but NSU starter Lee Callison got Connor Quick to ground out to second base, ending the inning.

After neither team was able to break the deadlock in the sixth, NSU posted three runs in the top of the seventh. It started when Hight led off with a single, advancing to second on a sacrifice bunt from Hartter. Fehr doubled to drive in Hight and give the RiverHawks the lead. He didn't have to wait long, as Klingensmith doubled to right-center field to put NSU up 5-3. After a wild pitch moved Klingensmith to third, he scored on a sacrifice fly from Jaxon Phipps.

NSU wouldn't stop there, as they added three more in the top of the ninth, with two of those runs coming on a 2-run home run from Klingensmith that extended the lead to 8-3.
