TAHLEQUAH -- The RiverHawks will open their season Friday afternoon with its first non-conference game in nearly two years in the Central Region Classic at Hamilton Field House on the campus of Central Oklahoma.  Northeastern State begins with UMary (N.D.) in the first of two games.

Northeastern State and intrastate rivals Central Oklahoma are the representatives from the MIAA, with Northwestern Oklahoma State as the Great American Conference representative.

Northwestern will face Central Friday evening before facing the RiverHawks on the following day.

The RiverHawks will tip-off at 1 p.m. in both contests and will be streamed PPV on The MIAA Network.

The Setup

  • Fala Suiaunoa opens her fifth season at the helm of the Northeastern State women's basketball program.
  • The RiverHawks are entering their tenth season as members of the MIAA and 25th season as an NCAA Division II program.

  • The RiverHawks return Zaria Collins to the floor, an All-MIAA selection leading the team with 16.8 points and 7.6 rebounds per game.
  • Newcomer Maleeah Langstaff will bring plenty of game-ready experience, starting in 69 games and playing in 82 at Winthrop.
