TAHLEQUAH -- Northeastern State's
Madison Wrather joined 52 student-athletes to be named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Football Academic All-America Friday.
Wrather is the first NSU student-athlete to earn two Academic All-America First Team honors and is one of six players this season to earn their second first team Academic All-America this fall.
Only ten offensive linemen were honored nationally, with five overall from the MIAA named, Wrather was one of two from the MIAA to earn a First Team distinguishment.
The native of Yukon, Okla., served as a team captain during the 2021 season and has been a mainstay of the O-Line for NSU and started the last 33 games for the RiverHawks.
Since 2013, Northeastern State student-athletes have won 16 CoSIDA Academic All-America awards.
The Division II Academic All-America program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2021-22 Division II Academic All-America program.
