TAHLEQUAH -- Northeastern State (1-0) tallied once in the first half and once more in the 81st minute to win its home opener 2-1 over Southern Nazarene (0-1).

The game was played on Gable Field at Doc Wadley Stadium due to wet conditions at DeLoache Field.Â

The RiverHawks got on the board first with a
Tom Singhgolden score through the lower left corner in the 28th minute. He was assisted by
Sam Scarth and
Ryan McCully.

The Crimson Storm knotted the contest at 1-1 in the 67th minute via an Eric Romero score on a scrum in front of the net.Â

James Doyle scored the game-winner in the 81st minute on a rocket from the right corner, assisted by
Sam Scarth and
Luis Soler.

Northeastern State had 12 shots including seven on goal and limited the Crimson Storm to six shots and three on goal. NSU had five on goal in the opening 45 minutes.

Niklas Kirchoff played the first 62 minutes in goal for the RiverHawks and made two saves.
Brett Ekperuoh allowed one goal in the final 28 minutes of action.
