OKLAHOMA CITY --  NSU batters struck out nine times but rallied past Southern Nazarene with a six-run sixth for a 7-5 win on Friday afternoon.  Cameron Conrad homered and reached three times, and freshman Carly Kelley tripled in her first career at-bat, going 2-for-4.

THE BASICS
Score: Northeastern State 7, Southern Nazarene 5
Records: Northeastern State (2-0), Southern Nazarene (0-3)
NSU Pitcher of Record: Gail Young (2-0)

HOW IT HAPPENED
A lead-off double by SNU in the home half of the first led to an early run.  After two scoreless innings, Conrad blasted her second career homer at NSU with a solo shot to left to even the game with the Crimson Storm.

An unlucky break for NSU with two outs allowed for two runs in the bottom half of the fifth.  With runners on the corners, a liner to Young caught the end of her glove and miss directed the ball past short for the go-ahead run.  Southern Nazarene added one more run with a single to center.

Northeastern State broke through in the sixth and hung a six-spot on the scoreboard on SNU, sending ten batters to the plate.  Alyssia Crick scored Addie Elbon in from second to get NSU within one. Chloe Bohuslavicky followed up with a two-run single with the go-ahead run scoring on a defensive throwing lapse.  Kelley hit a single left to score the team's fifth run.   With the bases loaded, Megan Green drew a walk to put NSU up 6-3. Rhomie Bradshaw followed her at-bat up with a sac fly RBI to give the RiverHwaks a four-run lead.

SNU would cut the RiverHawks' lead in half in the bottom half of the sixth with a two-out single up the middle.
