TAHLEQUAH -- #25 Central Oklahoma struck early and handed the RiverHawks its first home sweep of the season, winning 6-4 on Wednesday afternoon.
Central Oklahoma (11-2, 4-0 MIAA) jumped ahead early with a two-run opening frame and added to their lead in the third with a two-RBI double, an RBI triple, and SAC fly.
Addie Elbon put NSU on the scoreboard with a two-RBI homer down the right-field line. In the fourth, the RiverHawks closed in on UCO with a
Jaeden Rosenquist RBI single with one out.
Megan Green added the team's fourth run on a SAC fly to left field.
NSU put the tying run at the plate in the final three innings but could not continue to close the gap on UCO.
Sydney Balderrama started the game and went three innings.
Jenna Chassie finished the game going four scoreless and striking out a pair of UCO batters.
Northeastern State (10-6, 0-2 MIAA) was limited to five hits, with Elbon's homer being her third of the season.
The RiverHawks will host Newman next on Thursday for an MIAA doubleheader starting at noon.
