SHAWNEE – Northeastern State baseball was limited to three hits and fell 4-2 to Oklahoma Baptist in its last road midweek game.

Blaze Brothers led off the game with a walk and
Brayden Rodden hit a liner down the left field line for a double to put two in scoring position with no outs.
Collin Klingensmith delivered a sharp single up the middle to plate both. That was the last of the RiverHawks offense though as they mustered just one more hit, a Rodden single in the third.

Oklahoma Baptist responded with two outs in the bottom half of the first on a double and no-doubt home run to left with the wind blowing in.

Lee Callison threw 6.1 innings allowing three runs and struck out four in his best start of the season. After back-to-back singles in the third, he induced a double play before striking out one of the top hitters by average in the GAC.

The Bison got runners on the corners in the sixth to force a RiverHawks pitching change.
John Rains got two flyouts but one was a sacrifice fly to left.

In the eighth, a runner scored from first on a fly ball that was lost in the lights.

OBU out-hit NSU 10-3 and drew three walks.
Blaze Brothers drew two of those and pushed his reached base streak to 26. Northeastern State struck out 12 times in the game.

The RiverHawks drop to 19-8 overall while the Bison move to 18-8.

Northeastern State continues its final road swing of the season by traveling to Missouri Southern for a three-game series Friday at 3 p.m.
