KEARNEY, Neb. – Northeastern State was shutout for just the third time this spring in a 1-0 setback to open the doubleheader at Nebraska-Kearney.

UNK led off the third inning with a hit by pitch and played small ball to move the runner to third base with two outs. A double brought home the game's lone run.

Carly Kelley reached on an error to put two runners on but the Lopers pitcher navigated out of the jam.

Keeli Welden advanced to third on a passed ball and fly out right field but couldn't score the tying run.
