TAHLEQUAH -- Northeastern State tied its NCAA Division II mark with six homers in a game, but late defensive miscues opened the door for Southern Nazarene, who rallied from eight runs in the eighth inning to beat the RiverHawks 12-10 Tuesday.
The RiverHawks saw a streak of 11 straight home wins come to a halt as they will fall to 23-11 overall.
Trailing 10-2, Southern Nazarene (6-28) took advantage of three straight errors, clawed back using 13 batters, scoring all eight of their runs unearned to tie the game. In the ninth, a lead-off single turned into the eventual winning run for SNU; they would add one insurance run on a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch.Â
Blake Freeman played early in the game and had three RBI and hit an inside-the-park homer.Â
The RiverHawks return to the field to host Central Missouri for a three-game series starting on Saturday.
