Rhomie Bradshaw had three hits, but Northeastern State's season would end in heartbreak, falling 2-1 as Emporia State would sweep the MIAA doubleheader Saturday.
NSU needed to take one game of the series for a chance to advance to the postseason.
The RiverHawks outhit the Hornets 7-to-6 but would leave eight runners on base.
After two scoreless innings, Emporia State (21-23, 11-15 MIAA) scored a run on a one-out single the went up the middle bringing in a baserunner from second. The Hornets added a second run on a single that flew up the left-field line.
Bradshaw gave NSU its lone run to start the fifth, hitting her 11th homer of the season to left field.
Jenna Chassie (6-7) pitched a complete game and struck out three batters.
NSU's season will end with a 22-21-1 overall record and a 10-15-1 mark in the MIAA.
