MARYVILLE, Mo. – A goal in the final minute of the first half proved to be the difference Friday for the RiverHawks in a 1-0 setback at Northwest Missouri.
The Bearcats fired 13 shots on goal at Northeastern State, the highest amount by a foe since 2017.

Ainsley Cunningham allowed just her fifth goal on the year while stopping a career-high ten Northwest shots.
NSU's offense was held empty for the third time this season, with Northwest recording its fourth consecutive shutout to improve to 9-4-2 (5-3-0 MIAA). The RiverHawks were limited to four shots on goal, with
Lauren Parton having two.
Friday's setback snapped six consecutive wins for NSU over the Bearcats. The win is Northwest's fifth in 16 matches against the RiverHawks.
Northeastern State drops to 5-3-7 (2-3-3 MIAA) overall, and they will face Missouri Western Sunday at 1 p.m. in their final regular season road tilt.
