Men's Soccer opens three match homestand Thursday

TAHLEQUAH – A three-match homestand awaits the RiverHawks when they open play Thursday evening against Harding. 

Six points separate five teams in the GAC/MIAA standings, with four teams advancing to the conference tournament in November.  The RiverHawks will see three of those programs in the final four matches of the regular season. 

Northeastern State holds a 7-4-2 overall mark (4-3-1 GAC/MIAA), is 17th nationally with 35 goals this season, and is fourth overall with 9.46 shots per game. 

Flynn Semmerling leads the conference with 11 goals and is ninth nationally with 26 points.  He also leads the nation with a .750 shot accuracy.

History with the Bison
Northeastern State is 24-1 all-time against Harding and is 13-0  when facing the Bison in Tahlequah.  The RiverHawks have shut out Harding in three consecutive matches.

- Despite their record, Harding is just two points back of Northeastern State for fourth place in the conference standings.
- Harding stunned a ranked Fort Hays State squad on Oct. 15 with a 3-1 win at home.

History with the Tigers
Following 29 matches, Fort Hays State holds a 15-9 lead with five draws between the two teams.  Fort Hays State took the first meeting 2-1 in Hays.  Northeastern State is 6-3-3 at home when hosting the Tigers.

Scouting the Tigers (7-4-4 / 5-2-2 GAC/MIAA)
- Fort Hays State enters the week tied with Southern Nazarene for the top spot in the conference standings.
- The Tigers will host Southern Nazarene Thursday evening before making the trek to Tahlequah. 
- Blake Arndt leads Fort Hays State with six goals and averages 2.73 shots per game. 

Making History
- With 44 career goals, Flynn Semmerling is Northeastern State's new NCAA Divison II era leader and is third in D-II play in active goals.
- Luan Lamas had two goals within 38 seconds of each other at Newman, plus an assist.  His first goal came off a free kick near midfield, and he followed it up with a goal on a cross pass.  It is the 13th fastest consecutive goals by the same player in NCAA Division II history.
- Northeastern State's ten goals against Bacone this season are tied for the third most in a match in program history.
