KEARNEY, Neb. –
Maleeah Langstaff led the RiverHawks in scoring but they struggled offensively Thursday evening in a 71-49 setback at Nebraska-Kearney.
Langstaff hit the opening bucket of the game and the Lopers followed with ten unanswered points as UNK pulled quickly ahead.
The RiverHawks shot 32.7-percent (17-52) and were a 4-for-21 from the arc.
Langstaff had 15 points and six rebounds.
Zaria Collins had eight rebounds and seven points.
Bri Wietelman was a bright spot scoring seven points in her first action and Jan. 22 against Lincoln.
UNK had three in double-figures and was 47.2-percent (25-53) from the field. The Lopers improve to 18-5 overall, 13-4 MIAA with the win over the RiverHawks.
Northeastern State (5-18, 3-14 MIAA) will head to Fort Hays State for a Saturday meeting at 2 p.m.
