Baseball opens five game homestand Tuesday

TAHLEQUAH – Northeastern State will open a five-game homestand Tuesday where they will meet Southeastern Oklahoma for the second consecutive week and will host a four-game get with McKendree starting on Friday. 

The RiverHawks are riding a four-game sweep at Southern Nazarene, where they pounded out 53 hits on the Crimson Storm and holds a 5-2 mark on the season.

In home openers, NSU has lost it's previous three but beat Southeastern 11-10 in their 2021 meeting at Rousey Field.  In Durant, the Savage Storm defeated NSU one week ago, 8-6, and are 7-1 to start the season.  Tuesday will be Southeastern's first true road game of the season. 

McKendree will visit Tahlequah for the first time Friday, with the Bearcats opening their year going 1-2 at Harding.   Last season, the Bearcats were 14-26 and were picked to finish in fifth place in the GLVC.

Heading into this week's action C.D. White has a hit in all seven games played in 2022, leading the team with a .469 batting average and six doubles.  Brock Reller has three homers and 12 RBI on the year.
