Softball heads to Oklahoma City

TAHLEQUAH – Northeastern State heads to the Oklahoma City metropolitan area for five games this Friday through Sunday for the Edmond Regional Festival. 

The RiverHawks (5-3) faces four in-state programs and Chadron State out of Nebraska on the campus' of Oklahoma Christian, Central Oklahoma, and Southern Nazarene.

On Sunday, Northeastern State earned two wins behind a two-hitter from Savannah Evans to beat then-ranked No. 16 Southern Arkansas.   NSU blasted four homers in the nightcap to get past Upper Iowa, 10-8.  

Alyssia Crick leads NSU in batting average with a .444 and has six RBI, Chloe Bohuslavicky has hit a homer in three consecutive games, and Sydney Balderrama is batting .375 with a pair of doubles. 

Evans has 0.60 ERA in the circle with 12 strikeouts, Gail Young (2-1) lead teams with innings pitched (22.1) and strikeouts (24).
