TAHLEQUAH – After a series of schedule changes for the NSU baseball team, they will take the diamond for the first time Saturday against #11-ranked Southern Arkansas in Hot Springs for the Dugan Collegiate Baseball Invitational.

Southern Arkansas was the preseason pick to win the Great American Conference and finished the 2021 regular season with a 30-16 record. The Muleriders reached the NCAA Central Region Finals and are an early test for the RiverHawks to make an early mark to build off their MIAA regular-season runner-up finish.
The RiverHawks will wrap up the weekend Sunday with Harding, who was voted the GAC Coaches to finish eighth. The Bison finished the 2021 season with a 23-18 mark in the regular season but lost its top pitcher and the GAC Newcomer of the Year.
Northeastern State was picked to finish in third place, its highest as members of the MIAA. The RiverHawks return
Blaze Brothers, a First Team All-MIAA selection last season, hitting .327 with 12 home runs and 15 doubles. A key addition to the NSU squad is
Brock Reller, a First Team All-NSIC selection and was named Second Team All-Region belting home runs with 17 and had 49 RBI.
