WARRENSBURG, Mo. — Four St. Cloud State homers handed Northeastern State a 10-0 defeat Saturday afternoon to suffer its second setback of the day.
The RiverHawks committed four errors and had just two hits slipping to 12-13 overall this season.
The Huskies jumped on the RiverHawks out of the gates with a pair of solo homers. They added one more in the second on a stolen base to third that resulted in a throwing error to send the runner home.
St. Cloud State took a 4-0 lead on an outfield fielding error scoring a runner in from first. The Huskies hit their third homer of the game scoring two in the fourth. The runs continued to pour in for St. Cloud, adding one off a double. The RiverHawks committed their fourth error giving the Huskies its eighth run before they hit a two-run homer to take a 10-0 advantage.
Gail Young went 3.2 innings, striking out three giving up five earned runs.
Northeastern State returns to the field Sunday for a second game with the Huskies at 10 a.m.
