TAHLEQUAH – Northeastern State will face top-seeded Central Oklahoma for the third time in the MIAA Tournament Friday in the quarterfinal round.
In late March, the pair met earlier in the season, with UCO winning 6-1 on their home court. The RiverHawks have won both MIAA postseason clashes with the 'Chos, the most recent in the 2018 MIAA Tournament Finals.
Northeastern State has won ten of the last 13 meetings, with the Bronchos winning the previous three.
Central Oklahoma (17-1) claimed its second consecutive MIAA title with an 8-0 record and has won 18 straight matches against MIAA programs in the regular season and has maintained a top-10 ranking in the ITA Division II rankings.
For most of its season, injuries have hampered the RiverHawks (5-14), and it has played without its top two singles players. Northeastern State has dropped a trio of 4-3 decisions and five 5-2 match setbacks.
First serve from Edmond Center Court is at 10 a.m., and the winner will advance to play either Northwest Missouri or Nebraska-Kearney Saturday.
