RiverHawks tied for 14th at NCAA Super Regional

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. – Northeastern State shot four-over in their final four holes in an abbreviated day and is tied for 14th place in the NCAA Super Regional Friday, shooting a 606 (308-298).

The RiverHawks had the fifth-lowest second-round score of the 20-team field, with the distance to sixth place being 11 strokes.  A sixth or better finish earns NSU a transfer spot to the NCAA National Championship next week in Michigan.  NSU would almost need to shoot an even 288 score or lower to make up that gap for that to happen.  This season, the RiverHawks' lowest team total on a par-72 was a 291.

Brayden Strickland led the RiverHawks with an even 72 in the second round and is tied for 30th, scoring a 149.  Carlos Gomez and Brett Wilcoxen are tied for 54th, with the pair shooting a 152.  Christian Yanovitch is a stroke back of that pair, tied for 61st place.

Gabe Replogle has a 159 (79-80) and is tied for 91st place.

Grand Valley State leads the Super Regional by two strokes over Central Missouri with a 579.

The RiverHawks will tee off Saturday for the final round, starting at 8:10 a.m., with Henderson State and Tiffin on the front nine.
