GREENSBORO, N.C. – Northeastern State's
Blake Freeman and
Brock Reller earned First Team honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) as Rawlings Central Region selections in the outfield.
The pair are consensus All-Region selections after being previously selected by the Sports Information Directors (SID) and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America (NCBWA). To date, Northeastern State baseball, as an NCAA institution, has previously had four consensus All-Region selections.
Freeman helped lead the RiverHawks to its first NCAA Postseason Berth and was named All-MIAA First Team and a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection. He batted .400 for NSU in 56 games, holding single-season program records in hits (92) and streaks (27).
Reller was the program's first Region Player of the Year and took Co-Billing in the MIAA's top baseball honor. He shattered the program and MIAA single-season mark for home runs with 28 and set the NSU season mark with 87 RBI, beating the previous record by 18.
Both will be on the All-America ballot, which will be announced on Friday, June 3.
