GREENSBORO, N.C. –
Brock Reller is the second consensus Baseball All-American in Northeastern State's history Friday after he was selected as a First Team Team member in the outfield by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA). He was joined by teammate
Blake Freeman who was a Third Team pick in the outfield.
This marks the first time in NSU's Division II era that they earned two All-America honors on the same postseason ballot.
Reller joins Cody Robinson, who was a consensus outfield selection in 2014. Additionally, it is the first time as NCAA members that the RiverHawks have earned All-American honors in consecutive seasons, with
Nic Swanson being a Second Team selection at pitcher one year ago by the ABCA.
Reller completed his collegiate career this spring as one of six consensus All-Region selections for the NSU baseball program. He shattered the program and MIAA single-season mark for home runs with 28 and set the NSU season mark with 87 RBI, beating the previous record by 18.
The Grand Forks, N.D. native was the D2CAA Central Region Player of the Year and was Co-Player of the Year from the MIAA.
Freeman was a consensus All-Region selection and helped lead the RiverHawks to its first NCAA Postseason Berth, and was named All-MIAA First Team. He is also a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection, batting .400 for NSU in 56 games and holding single-season program records in hits (92) and steals (27).
