TOPEKA, Kan. -- The Northeastern State University Athletics Strategic Communications office received national recognition Tuesday as the College Sports Information Directors of America announced its 2021-22 CoSIDA Publications and Digital Design Contest award winners. This past season's men's basketball hype video and a graphic promoting Native American Night inside the NSU Event Center were ranked first in the nation. 

The office also took second in the nation in the Fall Video Recap category and Video Highlight Athlete In-Depth Feature.  A winter men's basketball game infographic also took second in the nation behind the office's Native American Night graphic. The NSU Strategic Communications office is the only NCAA Division II program in Oklahoma to be recognized and one of two from the MIAA to be among award winners.  Overall, the department finished tied for tenth nationally and fourth across all NCAA Division II programs.  

Since 2017, the NSU Strategic Communications office has earned 12 recognitions, with six second-place finishes and a pair of first-place honors.
